Overview

Restoran Lou Tian is a longtime staple in Kajang’s vibrant culinary scene, nestled in a corner lot at 15, Jalan 7, Taman Sungai Jelok. This Chinese restaurant has been serving the community for over four decades, building a reputation for honest, straightforward fare that honors tradition without pretense. Its location offers a spacious, airy environment, providing a comfortable setting that matches the unassuming charm of the food.

The menu highlights some standout dishes like the iconic Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王) and the Stir Fry Fish Fillet with Ginger and Onion, both of which showcase the kitchen's skill in balancing bold flavors and wok hei. The Four Heavenly Kings offers a spicy kick with expertly seared wok hei, creating a sensory experience that resonates with fans of fiery, well-charred Chinese classics.

Fish features prominently, reflecting the emphasis on fresh, precise cooking. The Stir Fry Fish Fillet is a delicate yet flavorful dish, with tender fish cooked just right, complemented by the sharpness of ginger and aromatic onion. Diners looking for seafood options keenly appreciate dishes like the fire breathing fish, which has gained attention as a bestseller due to its lively flavors and memorable taste.

No introduction to Restoran Lou Tian is complete without mentioning their Hokkien Mee, which draws enthusiastic praise. Thick noodles cloaked in rich, dark soy sauce and topped with crispy lard croutons create a texture and flavor combination that many consider essential tasting when visiting. It’s a hearty, comforting dish that speaks to the soul of traditional Malaysian Chinese cooking.

While most dishes receive positive notes, such as the salted egg chicken and tiepan tofu—both carrying a reputation for balanced seasoning and satisfying textures—there are occasional critiques about inconsistency, reminding patrons that the charm of a heritage eatery sometimes comes with its imperfections. That said, the overall sentiment leans toward a reliable dining experience where flavors hold true to classic roots without being overly salty or heavy.

The appeal of Restoran Lou Tian is clear: it resonates with local families and those seeking authentic, nostalgic Chinese cuisine in an accessible, no-frills setting. Whether you are craving intricate seafood dishes, smoky noodles, or homestyle specialties, this restaurant provides a taste of Kajang’s culinary history with each plate.

A corner lot house that has been operating as a restaurant for over 40 years, this is a good place for noodles and simple dishes. The sweet sour pork is good, flavourful and old fashioned. Hokkien Mee is Highly Recommended. Topped with lard croutons, the thick black soya sauce coats each noodle in a tasty gravy. This is a Must Try here. Tye Claypot Loh Shue Fun however was rather bland and unexciting.

Ordered Tilapia and the fish is cooked just right, not overcooked. Tiepan tofu is nice and salted egg chicken is great. Definitely better than a lot of restaurants out there. Recommended with 2 thumbs up.

Food is ok But sometimes the quality is not consistent. It's a normal Chinese restaurant can try their fire breathing fish which is their best seller.
